A post-mortem examination on the body of Kasipul Member of Parliament Charles Ong’ondo Were is scheduled for Monday, May 5, as detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding his death.
The autopsy, to be conducted by Chief Government Pathologist Dr. Johansen Oduor, is expected to reveal the exact cause of his death.

“Immediately after the incident was reported, a team of detectives from the DCI Homicide Bureau, supported by forensic experts from the National Forensic Laboratory, was deployed to the scene,” reads the statement in part.
The DCI emphasized their commitment to uncovering the circumstances surrounding this incident, and bringing those responsible to book.
“The DCI is pursuing all angles to uncover the circumstances surrounding this incident,” the statement adds.
Detectives have retraced Were’s movements from Parliament to the scene of the shooting.
“The DCI extends its heartfelt condolences to Hon. Were’s family, parliamentary colleagues, constituents, and friends during this difficult time.”
The agency appealed to members of the public to provide any information that could assist in the investigations.
