The Irumbi Secondary School community in Luanda constituency’s Wemilabi Ward is a happy lot, owing to the hand-over of a newly constructed one storey classroom block.
The modern building comprises six fully completed classrooms and is expected to greatly improve the learning environment for students at the newly established school.
The project is part of ongoing development initiatives aimed at uplifting education standards across Luanda constituency.
Speaking during the handover ceremony, Luanda Member of Parliament (MP) Dick Maungu said his leadership agenda is focused on transforming Luanda through meaningful and sustainable development.
The first term legislature noted that improving school infrastructure is key to ensuring students learn in a safe, comfortable, and motivating environment.
“Our agenda is clear and our goal is to change the face of Luanda constituency through quality development. We are committed to improving learning facilities in every school,” said Maungu.
Some of the key projects currently on course include the construction of Okonda bridge and construction of new classrooms at Ebulonga Primary School.
Maungu further announced that plans are underway to provide Ebulonga Secondary School with a new school bus, besides revealing that he will soon visit Ebusiratsi AC Primary School to commission two newly constructed classrooms.
Local leaders and residents welcomed the projects, terming them a major boost to education in the area.
