Apostle Nehemiah Lipesa of Emuhaya in Vihiga County, has called on residents to uphold unity, peace and responsible family values, urging them to avoid polygamy and instead embrace harmonious living.

He made the remarks during a Tuinuane meeting held in Emuhaya, which brought together residents for prayers and community engagement.

Addressing the gathering, Apostle Lipesa cautioned that polygamy often breeds conflict within families and the wider community, leading to misunderstandings, neglect of responsibilities and insecurity.

He encouraged families to focus on mutual respect, love and accountability, saying strong families are the foundation of a peaceful society.

“Unity begins at the family level. When families are stable and guided by moral values, the entire community benefits,” he said.

The apostle further urged members of the Tuinuane forum to embrace togetherness and work as one, regardless of social or economic differences. He noted that division weakens communities and slows development, while unity promotes progress and peaceful coexistence.

On matters of security, Apostle Lipesa emphasised the need for residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with local leaders and security agencies to maintain peace in Emuhaya. He warned against engaging in activities that could disrupt harmony, especially during community meetings and public gatherings.

“Security is a shared responsibility. Let us protect one another by reporting suspicious activities and avoiding actions that may cause conflict,” he added.

Participants at the meeting welcomed the message, describing it as timely and relevant, particularly at a time when communities are facing social challenges linked to family disputes and insecurity.

The Tuinuane meeting concluded with prayers for peace, unity and prosperity in Emuhaya and the wider Vihiga County, as leaders pledged to continue guiding residents on moral values and peaceful living.
