Patrick Korir has officially begun his tenure as the Interim CEO of the Football Kenya Federation (FKF).
Arriving at FKF headquarters early this morning, Patrick was warmly welcomed by FKF staff, marking the start of a new chapter for the federation under his leadership.
Patrick, who was appointed to the interim position in light of recent changes at FKF, brings a rich background in football management and journalism.
With a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Egerton University and over a decade of experience in the football industry, his journey spans multiple capacities, including as an IT professional, football coordination, sports journalism, and most recently, serving as the CEO of Nairobi City Stars.
As he settled into his new role, Patrick immediately met FKF staff to familiarise with the ongoing projects at the federation.
His first agenda was focused on maintaining operational continuity within the federation.
He also reassured FKF staff of his commitment to fostering teamwork and driving the federation forward amid the upcoming FKF elections and key footballing events, including the U20 AFCON CECAFA Qualifiers, Junior Starlets participation in the upcoming FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup, Harambee Stars’ 2025 AFCON Qualifiers and all ongoing domestic leagues.
In a brief statement to the media, Patrick expressed his enthusiasm for the new role, saying:
“As the interim leader, my immediate focus will be on ensuring FKF’s operations continue seamlessly while laying the groundwork for future initiatives aimed at strengthening football structures in Kenya.”
He takes over from Barry Otieno who resigned this week.
