Kisumu Central Parliamentary aspirant Edward Onyango alias Bob CEO on Saturday officially kick-started the 2025/2026 Kisumu Central Sub County League.
The games officially started at the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) grounds in Kondele, with Urusi FC thrashing Kondele Young Stars 3-1, as Central Electrical FC beat Impala FC 2-1 in the very first matches.
Onyango is sponsoring the league for a third straight year. He donated Sh100,000 to the Kisumu Central Sub County League, directing towards assisting with logistics.
A total of 16 teams across six wards in Kisumu Central are taking part in the competition, with eyes trained on being crowned champions. The league action will last for 8 months.
The league, he said, seeks to identify and nurture football talents within Kisumu Central.

Last month, hundreds of Kisumu Central residents benefitted from a free general surgical and gynaecological screening camp, organized by the aspirant in collaboration with Maxcure Hospitals and Nyawita Medical Centre.
Addressing the press at the time, Kelvin Otieno, Bob CEO’s representative said they organized the camp in order to take medical services closer to people, especially those who cannot afford quality healthcare services.
“This is not the first time we are doing this. We were here last year where several people were treated and those with eye problems given free eyeglasses,” he said.
Bob CEO is among a handful of aspirants seeking to unseat current Kisumu Central MP, Joshua Odongo Oron in 2027.
