Siche FC are the champions of the second edition of sports journalist Lucky Herriano’s Super Cup tournament, after defeating Ngachi FC 2-0 in a thrilling and tightly contested final at the Khalumuli Primary School grounds, in Webuye West, Bungoma County.
Fans who attended the final on Saturday, January 03, 2026 will remember the name Shadrack Wanyonyi for days, if not weeks, after the youngster scored a double in the second half to give his team the bragging rights.
With 8 boys’, 3 girls’ and 4 under 17 teams participating in the tournament, organiser Lucky Herriano – sports journalist at Cape Media, which owns Radio and TV 47 among other stables, says the mission is clear – giving back to the community and nurturing talents.
He said football coaches from within and without – as far as Tanzania attended the tournament to scout for talent, with a view of ensuring that no talented player is left behind ‘to gather dust’ in Webuye West.
“My dream is to make it and return here to give back to the community,” said Wanyonyi, the goal scorer in the final.
“My son has a big heart. I fully support his mission to uplift others in our society,” added Alice Chemoi, Lucky’s mother.
Ali Hassan Kauleni, Lucky’s colleague at Cape Media said the tournament gave him an opportunity to witness raw talent, first hand, commending Herriano for his gesture.
“Not everybody has the time to host such a tournament,” he said.

Plans are already in place for the third edition.
